The Den
The Den supports the Health and Wellbeing of our pupils by offering a calm, nurturing and supportive environment which can be incorporated into pupil timetables or be used as a ‘drop in’ centre throughout the school day. The Den is a place within the school where pupils can be given freedom to express themselves. They develop their ability to identify their feelings and understand how these feeling can impact their behaviour. Pupils can take part in a range of activities such as arts and crafts, baking, mindfulness, art therapy and group discussions that enable them to deal with stress and pressure.
Breakfast is available Monday-Friday from 8.30am where pupils can enjoy toast, cereal bars and hot drinks free of charge. The den is also used by pupils during interval and lunchtimes.
Homework club runs on a Wednesday after school until 3.50pm where pupils are supported by staff and peers to complete homework with the access to ICT available.
